P2/3 imagined they were a knight defending a castle and created their own shield. The children had to think about the pattern they were designing on their shield and how this linked to their family and where they are from. The children loved painting and exploring different materials to use while creating their shield.
P2/3 have been learning about what to do when they feel sad or unhappy. Each child wrote down lots of things they like to do and put it in their own Cheer-Up Cup. When they feel sad or unhappy, they can choose one of the things they like to do to cheer themselves up.
This term our topic in P2/3 is Scottish Castles. The children enjoyed drawing their own castle and painting it using sponges. After painting we labelled all the different parts of our castles and build our own castles out of construction materials.
