Science: Chemical Reactions
This morning Miss Hosie visited P2/3 to teach us about chemical reactions. The children predicted what would happen when mints were poured into bottles of coke. Then we went outside to test our theories.

Topic: Scottish Castles
P2/3 imagined they were a knight defending a castle and created their own shield. The children had to think about the pattern they were designing on their shield and how this linked to their family and where they are from. The children loved painting and exploring different materials to use while creating their shield.

Writing: Poetry
Yesterday P2/3 started their new writing focus – Poetry. We went outside to discuss what we could hear, smell, see and feel on our nature walk. When we returned to class we wrote a poem about it.

Dogs Trust Visit
Yesterday in P2/3 we had a visitor from Dogs Trust. Our visitor taught us the five rules for behaving safely around dogs. The children loved meeting Magnus the dog!
