Fabulous work P2/3!
Science: Inheritance
Yesterday P2/3 were learning about inheritance. We used Mr Men and Little Miss to understand how things can be passed down from our parents. The children were challenged with drawing a picture of what Mr Small and Little Miss Dotty’s child would look like using our new knowledge of inherited characteristics.
Amazing work P2/3!
Science: SSPCA
On Friday P1/2/3 had a visitor from the SSPCA and two rabbits; Fudge and Smudge. The children learned what the SSPCA do and how to take care of rabbits.
Fab work P1/2/3!
Science Week: LOST
Yesterday P2/3 had a visitor from LOST (Learning Outdoors Support Team). The children loved finding different bugs and looking at them through a microscope to figure out what they had found. We also learned how to use nets to catch butterflies in the better weather and how to catch bugs from bushes using a sheet.
Interesting work P2/3!
Science: Scottish Power
P2/3 had two visitors from Whitelee Windfarm who came to talk to us about wind energy. They showed us what they have to wear to climb to the top of the wind turbines to fix them. The children loved trying on the harness and looking at pictures from the top of the turbines.
Brilliant work P2/3!
Numeracy: Measurement
Yesterday P2/3 were learning about capacity. The children had the chance to investigate if different sized containers could hold the same amount of water.
Great work P2/3!
Science: Electricity
Yesterday in P2/3 we were learning how to build an electrical circuit. The children had the chance to try and build a working circuit with a battery, a bulb and a switch. We learned the symbols for these and drew our own circuits. The children loved seeing their bulbs light up!
Fab work P2/3!
Science: Colourful Magic Trick
Today in P2/3 we used kitchen roll to carry out a colourful magic trick. In the first picture it looks as though the picture has only been drawn with black pen but when we added the kitchen roll to water the colour appears. Ask your children how they did it!
Brilliant work P2/3!
Technology: Scratch
Today P1/2/3 really enjoyed learning about Scratch from our visitor from JP Morgan. Our visitor taught us how to use different features in Scratch and showed us some programmable robots.
Fab work P1/2/3!
Numeracy: Length
This morning P2/3 were measuring the length of things outside using a trundle wheel. The children loved counting the clicks from the trundle wheel.
Great work P2/3!
