Today in P2/3 we were learning about dinosaur fossils. We made some of our own fossils using salt dough and searched in the sand like we were a paleontologist looking for tricky words to look up the meaning in a dictionary. The children also enjoyed putting in order the events that take place to create a fossil.
Yesterday P2 and P3 were learning about friendships. We all made a leave for our friendship tree and discussed what we had written as we glued our own leave onto the tree. After that, we played friendship bingo.
Today the Primary 2/3 pupils enjoyed a football session delivered by Callum from CP Fitness. They participated in several skills based practices focusing on dribbling and passing. The pupils did a great job and had lots of fun.
HWB School Improvement Pupil Committe – Worry Box Some representatives from the HWB School Improvement Pupil Committee then visited our class to deliver and introduce a worry box. This has been delivered to all classes based on feedback from what pupils would like to see in our school.
Yesterday, P4 worked with Lynsey from Active Schools to create an obstacle course for the rest of the school to support UNICEF Soccer Aid 2023. P2/3 had a great time tackling the obstacle course!
This links to Article 31 where all children have the right to rest, relax and play however, sometimes barriers/obstacles like war and poverty can get in the way of accessing this right.
On Monday, P2/3 took part in a Mythical Mark Making workshop with Art Students from UWS. The children found things out in nature to draw and made their own paint brushes! After lunch, they painted using these paint brushes out in the playground.
