Today we made an insect out of the letter I. We have been learning lots about formation and spying our letters inside words.
We also had a tennis lesson today with Blair. We were taught different ways of doing a volley.

Wednesday 24th – Attention
On Wednesday morning the class have a one off P.E. input from a visiting member of staff. This will start at 9.10am. So as to be on time for our slot if possible, can the class come to school on Wednesday in trainers or ready to put their gym shoes on straight away.
Wednesday Update
That is most photographic permission in now so as of tomorrow the blog will now have photographs of all our cute faces.
We have been busy today. We have been completing jobs on the S sound, lots of number work and in the afternoon we took advantage of the hot day and played in the garden with P2.
Today Miss Stevenson also introduced us to a new way of doing some jobs (pupil choice, pupil lead learning and above all differentiation of abilities), where we chose how “tricky” we wanted the job to be by choosing a green star job, a yellow star job or a shooting star job.
Reading Buddies
Today the P7 buddies read our library books to us. We got to visit the P7 classroom also.
Common/Tricky Words
P1 have been learning the letters a and t and also to read and write their first words. 
The Letter A
This week the pupils have started to learn the phonemes. We started on the letter A.
Clever P1
Over the last 2 days we have been doing lots of Numeracy work surrounding numbers. Some of the boys and girls today were even doing addition calculations.
We were practising reading numbers and building towers of the corresponding amount. Miss Stevenson taught some of us a game called Bang! We loved when she had to give away all her cards.
Tuesday 27th August
Today in class we completed lots of rhyming jobs – we were all very good.
We also learnt all about what the House Point Reward System in school is. Please see the Class Info Tab for your child’s house colour.
Please note that each Tuesday from 11.45am Mrs McKillop will be the class teacher. To allow for Miss Stevenson’s planning time.
Monday 26th August
This morning we practiced pencil control and writing our first names – some of us wrote our Surname also. We tried to keep our writing small and make sure our names had a capital letter at the start.
In Numeracy we explored the Ten Trains and showed Miss Stevenson our counting skills as well as writing our answers down. 2, 3 and 5 are really tricky to write with our tiny hands.
This afternoon we had a choice of a few activities, including drawing and lego. Some of us played a counting game with Miss Stevenson.
P1 End of first Week
Today we were doing lots of number work with Miss Stevenson and Mrs G.
We also did lots of jobs on sounds and sounds we can hear (Phonological Assessment and Initial Sounds Assessment).
This afternoon we had Friday Free Time and played lots. Some of us wanted to watch Bluey because we were TIRED!
