We had a lovely day. We attended the book swap, entered a competition to design a book cover, read a book about a magic balloon and then made some balloon artwork. In the afternoon we got a visit from Captain Conker.

Today we had lots of fun making and of course eating Strawberry Muffins. Not lots of pictures as Miss Stevenson had to have eyes on the back of her head! Everyone worked so hard at taking turns, listening to instructions and helping their friends. Next week we will be making pancakes.
Primary 1 have been busy making Valentines cards, bracelets and love bugs. As well as writing about the loves in their lives.
Primary 1 all presented a fabulous talk to their class today all about their favourite place in Scotland. Some pupils planned theirs at home and some pupils improvised on the spot. Every single pupil was fabulous – showing confidence to talk about their favourite places and also answer questions from the teacher or their friends. Well done everyone!!!
Primary 1 have been working very hard on their phonemes, spelling words and sentences this week.
Mrs Mckillop teaches our class every Tuesday 11:45-3pm. During this time, Mrs McKillop teaches part of the Health and Wellbeing curriculum and part of the Maths Curriculum. Currently the focus for HWB will be hand hygiene/ tooth brushing and for Maths it will be a focus on time. Time will start with days of the week, seasons, months before moving onto clocks.
We played days of the week snap to reinforce the order of the days of the week. This also helped with recognising the words. We also learned the days of the week song (Addams Family version).
When Mrs McKillop was in our class today we were allowed to choose the order we completed our tasks in.
in the photo above, some children are completing ‘I spy’ SATPIN. Another task was cut and stick of 3 letter words and matching the picture to them eg. Map, pat.
The last task was handwriting.
For Maths today our focus was on 1 more, 1 less. Children were given a number and had to identify the number before and the number after.
Primary 1 have been working hard on number bonds. They love challenging themselves to find all the different ways you can make a number.
Merry Christmas to everyone! Thank you so much for all my gifts and well wishes. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year. I think I will sleep for a week!!
Today we finished watching Polar Express and the elf even left us our own train.
Santa came to the party and he was kind enough to leave a present.
