P1 Farm Trip

On Thursday 31st March P1 will be walking to Aitkenhead Farm to feed the lambs. Pupils should wear wellies or old footwear and bring gloves to protect their hands.

We will leave at 10.30 and return for 12.30.

We can’t wait!!!

❗P1 Allergy Information❗

On Thursday 31st the pupils have been asked to bring in or decorate a boiled egg for a Parent Council Competiton. PLEASE NOTE –

P1 will be unable to take part in this due to a severe egg allergy. We will still take part in the competition using different materials.

Please do not bring an egg into class that day.

P1 Science Week: Bees

We created questions we wanted to answer about bees  including what can we do to help bees? Where do bees live?

We used cheesy crisps and paper bags in an experiment to show how bees fly from flower to flower and transfer pollen.

We also made seed bombs full of bee and butterfly friendly seeds.  The children followed instructions to mix compost, flour, seeds and water to make the seed bomb mixture.  Our seed bombs are currently drying in the classroom and then they will be send home with the children.

P1 Jack and the Beanstalk

To encourage the dragon back to out class and help him save Fairyland the pupils decided to read Jack and the Beanstalk.

We used  some magic beans at Numeracy time to help us count and we have begun to use teamwork skills to make our own beanstalk. We hope the dragon comes back.

P1 Dragon

Today a dragon visited our class during lunch time and left us us a letter. The letter asked us to help save Fairyland by believing in and reading Fairytales. Keep and eye on our Blog to see how we help the Dragon.
