Science: Gummy Bears<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Firstly the pupils enjoyed learning about solids, liquids, and gasses where they made a human solid, human liquid, and human gas.<\/p>\n

In a solid, particles are tightly packed.
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

In a liquid, particles are less tightly packed and free to move past each other.
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

In a gas, particles are spread out and move randomly.
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

Experiment time:<\/strong><\/p>\n

P5\/6 created hypotheses of what might happen when we placed a solid (gummy bear) into a liquid (water) and left it overnight.\"\"<\/p>\n

P2\/3 led the learning by showing P5\/6 what to do.<\/p>\n

We left the cups containing our solid and liquids overnight to investigate today. When we returned the gummy bears has gotten bigger. We learned that this was due to a process called\u00a0osmosis<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>where water molecules travel from an area of high concentration of water to an area of low concentration of water.<\/p>\n

Finally, we discussed how we could use this knowledge to remove the water from the gummy bear. Some hypotheses we have put to the test are:<\/p>\n
