Dear Young People, Parents\/Carers,<\/p>\n

From March 2022, Fenwick Primary School and E.C.C.<\/span> \u00a0<\/strong>has been\u00a0 part of the\u00a0 council wide Trauma Informed Contact and Care approach.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trauma Informed Contact and Care (TICC)<\/strong> is a unique Police and Education early intervention safeguarding and wellbeing partnership, which supports children and young people exposed to domestic abuse.<\/p>\n

Being part of Trauma Informed Contact and Care<\/strong> means that our school will receive a notification from Police Scotland before the start of the next school day when a child or young person in our school has been involved in or exposed to a domestic abuse incident in the previous 24 hours.<\/p>\n

The information is given in strict confidence to one of two school designated contacts, who will be the Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher or Child Protection Co-ordinator. This will enable support to be given dependent on the wellbeing needs and wishes of the child.<\/p>\n

The designated contact in our school is Rhona McKillop (DHT)<\/span> who has received an additional briefing about Trauma Informed Contact and Care <\/strong>and the impact of Domestic Abuse on children and young people.<\/p>\n

This notification process will be subject to an evaluation process at\u00a0 and should you wish any further information please request this from one of the above designated contacts.<\/p>\n

Trauma Informed Contact and Care<\/strong> supports us to get it right for every child.<\/p>\n
