During our topic “150 Years of the Scottish Cup”, the boys and girls in P5/6 developed their mapping skills by locating the football teams involved in the Scottish Cup on a map of Scotland. The children used digital technology, including an online map and an atlas, to find each team and then pinpoint their locations on a blank map.
P5/6 have been learning about 150 Years of the Scottish Cup. The children studied the Scottish Cup trophy, learned about the symbolism behind the engravings and ‘the wee man at the top’ and then created their own trophy which represented them, with symbols relating to their hobbies and interests.
As part of our mini topic focusing on Christmas Around the World, P5/6 pupils took part in an Escape Room activity. The children worked in groups to crack the codes, find clues, and decode secret messages.
Primary 5/6 went for a walk around the village to advertise the school & ECC Christmas Fayre. The children visited local businesses, which kindly agreed to display posters in their windows, and they also left some posters in village hotspots for the community to see.
P5/6 have had a great day celebrating Children in Need.
The children took part in a Pudsey scavenger hunt, played ‘Bear Pong’, took part in a Children in Need Blooket competition, coloured in Pudsey art, took part in a Children in Need workout, and carried out Challenge 25 where they worked in teams to build a Lego house for Pudsey.
