Dear Pupils and Parents/Carers
SQA RESULTS 2020
SQA will release exam results, by post, to young people on Tuesday 4th August. If you have signed up for MySQA you will also receive them by text/email. We wish all of our senior pupils the best of luck for tomorrow.
Should you wish to discuss your exam results or any subject changes you wish to make as a result please contact the school on 01563 549988.
All calls will be taken by a member of the office staff who will ask for the following information:
- Pupil Name, Year Group and House, Contact Number
- If your query is related to your SQA Results or to discuss a Subject Change
- Subject(s) where there is a concern you would like to discuss
- If a university or college application is related to your query
A member of the school SLT will follow up on these queries throughout the remainder of the week. It should be noted that, in line with GDPR, exam results and data can only be shared and discussed with the individual pupil.
To allow priority to be given to these matters, calls and queries in relation to other topics will be followed up as soon as possible.
RE-OPENING
Further to Linda McAulay-Griffiths’ statement last week (detailed below) please note the following upcoming dates:
Tuesday 4th August: East Ayrshire will release local authority statement on reopening.
Wednesday 5th August: Grange Academy will publish school level guidance and information.
Tuesday 11th August: Staff In-Service Day
Wednesday 12th – Friday 14th August: ‘Soft Start’ (arrangements in 5th Aug communication)
Monday 17th August: All pupils return full time.
Responding to the Scottish Government’s announcement, Linda McAulay-Griffiths, Head of Education at East Ayrshire Council advised:
“We were delighted to receive the guidance issued by the Scottish Government in respect of return of schools and our teams are working hard across the council to ensure that all of our schools and Early Childhood Centres are checked, safe and ready to welcome our young people.
A comprehensive statement covering our approach in East Ayrshire will be published on our website and on School Apps for parents, carers and young people on Tuesday 4 August, following consultation with Headteachers, Teaching Unions and our Parent Council Steering Group. This will then be followed by individual school communications.
Our schools will be open from Wednesday 12 August with a “soft start” over that week and individual schools will confirm their own specific arrangements about which children should attend each day. This is to ensure that time and space is given to making sure that the new safety and hygiene arrangements in each school are understood by young people, staff, parents and carers.
At this stage, we can confirm that all pupils will return full-time on Monday 17 August.
Our statement on Tuesday 4 August will furnish parents and carers with further detail in all regards, including the return of children to early learning and childcare and we once again re-iterate what a joy it will be to see our young people again in our schools and Early Childhood Centres.”
