Communication about progress & learning experiences

Evening all ECC parents,

Going forward I would like to highlight ways we are aiming to provide you all with relevant feedback about the going’s on inside the ECC, your child’s individual progress and learning experiences offered within the ECC.

As previously mentioned our blog will be used once I have the relevant permissions returned from all children and begin using as the blog more regularly to highlight visually what each group are doing throughout the week. Parents can look at the blog whenever they feel like it and look at it with their children at home.
There will be pictures of room set ups and learning experiences to show you what we are doing within the ECC.
* Please note this will be used as often as we can and sporadically throughout each week as we try to juggle running the ECC, looking after your children in the ECC playrooms and all other early years tasks *
We will also have termly reports for all parents regarding your child’s progress for that term under our 4 curriculum headings which will go out to parents late October, January, April and June.
These will go out via email and will be expected to be returned with parental comments to the ECC through email, so please make sure you are accessing all weekly newsletters via email and that I as Depute manager have all relevant up to date emails for your child.

We are also going to introduce weekly our “Talk to me Tuesdays/Thursdays” after the October holidays where your child will come home with stickers on their clothing regarding what they have been learning during their time within their cohorts. These stickers will be aimed at you having a discussion with your child about what they have done at nursery based on what is on their sticker. This is to let you know specific things your child has learned or enjoyed at nursery throughout the week and is a talking opportunity for you and your child.

I will also continue with weekly newsletters that will detail what your child has been doing in their cohorts, what they have been doing at group times in their cohorts, any relevant information or dates and snack for the following week.

I hope you find this information useful about how we will be going forward with communication about the ongoing learning and progress within the ECC and your child’s progress during this academic session and unprecedented times.

kind regards
Leanne Strathearn

Welcome back to our 2020-2021 session

Welcome back to all our returning children and welcome to our new Lainshaw Early Childhood Centre children! I hope you have found coming back a huge positive and are now finding yourself in a new routine with us.

I would like to introduce you to our ECC blog and for those unfamiliar I will be using this to communicate what children have been doing within the ECC (permissions pending) and putting on pictures of learning experiences and any events we have. I hope you find this blog goes hand in hand with my weekly newsletter and you can see the visuals behind my words.

Have a lovely day – Leanne S 🙂

Our end of term summer leavers party

Well mums, dads, boys and girls…

What a year it has been! We have been through a HmIE inspection and a pandemic all in one academic year and in my first year as manager here at Lainshaw! Unfortunately we have also missed out in some Precious moments too which for our returners we will try to ensure we make up for this next year when things hopefully return back to normal over the upcoming months.
From the bottom of my heart I wish to thank each and every one of you for your continue support and I hope this continues through the next academic year. Where we will strive to get bigger and better and cannot wait to do this with you all by our side.

All the Lainshaw ECC ladies and myself wish each and everyone of you a fantastic summer, we know the summer may be different than previous summers due to the pandemic that’s currently ongoing however make this a time where hopefully you can all switch off from work and make the most precious memories at home with your loved ones.

So take care, stay safe and have the most amazing summer! Now let’s start our summer end of term party! With some fun play ideas, stories, songs ending our day with a virtual memories slideshow for you all and a final summer farewell from all our amazing staff. And I hope you all share this when I say… To all the Lainshaw ECC ladies personally from the bottom of my heart I want to thank each and everyone of you for all the amazing work you have done over the last year! You all deserve this break and cannot wait to start the new term together ❤️
So have lots of fun today! love Leanne S
