{"id":85,"date":"2022-03-18T13:59:42","date_gmt":"2022-03-18T13:59:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/eacdunlopprimaryschool\/?p=85"},"modified":"2022-03-18T13:59:42","modified_gmt":"2022-03-18T13:59:42","slug":"covid-contingency-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/eacdunlopprimaryschool\/2022\/03\/18\/covid-contingency-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Covid Contingency Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><strong>Covid Contingency Plan<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Please find below information regarding our Covid Contingency Plan should whole class isolation or remote learning take place.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Remote Learning<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All class teachers will provide four activities for pupils to complete Monday-Thursday which will include a spelling, reading and numeracy activity. Additional activities will be added to cover health &amp; well-being with some across the curriculum activities too. Activities may include printable worksheets, websites, online games and activities, family learning and outdoor activities. Each class will receive one \u2018live lesson\u2019 per day.<\/p>\n<p>On a Friday a family learning challenge will be uploaded for all pupils across the school to complete and used as a \u2018catch up\u2019 day for any activities which have not been completed throughout the week. All activities should be submitted daily to class teachers.<\/p>\n<p>Daily activities will be scheduled the evening before to ensure families have time to prepare and organise in advance.<\/p>\n<p><u>P1-3<\/u><\/p>\n<p>P1-3 will access their remote learning via Learning Journals. All pupils will receive their log in details in advance and should access the \u2018Stories\u2019 section of the journal. P1-3 teachers will post learning activities on a daily basis for pupils to access. Completed work can be uploaded to Learning Journals for teacher feedback.<\/p>\n<p><u>P4-7<\/u><\/p>\n<p>P4-7 pupils will access their remote learning via Microsoft Teams. All pupils are familiar with the use of Teams and will continue to access their daily learning activities via the \u2018Assignments\u2019 tab on Teams. Pupils should upload their completed work via assignments for teacher feedback.<\/p>\n<p><u>Live Interactions<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Pupils will receive notification in advance of live interactions and these take many forms which\u00a0<u>may<\/u>\u00a0include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A pre-recorded lesson by the teacher or by another teacher from out with the school,<\/li>\n<li>PowerPoint presentation with teacher audio pre-recorded.<\/li>\n<li>Teams live chat (P4-7)<\/li>\n<li>VScene live chat (P1-3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All pupils should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand that no part of any live teaching, learning or discussion will be recorded;<strong>\u00a0Pupils should also not record or take pictures<\/strong>\u00a0of any part of a livestream \/ videoconference.<\/li>\n<li>Speak with their parent\/carer and agree\u00a0with them\u00a0before switching their camera on for live sessions.\u00a0 There is\u00a0<strong>no<\/strong>\u00a0expectation that pupils need a camera or microphone switched on for any live session.<\/li>\n<li>Only use\u00a0their Glow email address for\u00a0class communication.<\/li>\n<li>Show respect for\u00a0everyone in the online classroom.<\/li>\n<li>Dress appropriately if they are using their camera,\u00a0thinking about modesty and respect for\u00a0others.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the location\u00a0they\u00a0log in from is appropriate\u00a0i.e.\u00a0give consideration to\u00a0background, camera angle, privacy etc.<\/li>\n<li>Understand and agree that no documentation stored for learning, whether it be assignments or materials shall be duplicated, copied or shared with anyone other than the pupil or school.<\/li>\n<li>Contact their teacher and\/or school immediately if there are any issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Inappropriate conduct by any pupil will result in the potential withdrawal of a pupil\u2019s online account and possibly further action.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><u>Online Applications:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The school has purchased a variety on online applications to support remote learning and learning at home. Each child has their own log in for each of these applications, please double check they are able to access these at home.<\/p>\n<p>Sumdog \u2013 online tasks for literacy and numeracy.<\/p>\n<p>MyMaths \u2013 supporting numeracy and mathematics.<\/p>\n<p>Giglets \u2013 supporting reading at home.<\/p>\n<p>Busy Things \u2013 P1-3 resource.<\/p>\n<p>Please remember that learning at home is not a replacement for in class learning and there is no expectation that this should be replicated at home. The work provided by the school is a suggestion and we encourage parents\/carers to access at least some of the learning provided, where possible.<\/p>\n<p>Learning at home can also consist of one or more of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Play and physical activity<\/li>\n<li>General everyday family activities<\/li>\n<li>Worksheets<\/li>\n<li>Activities suggested by the teacher\/practitioner<\/li>\n<li>Food preparation and cooking<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum related activities<\/li>\n<li>Talking to other family members<\/li>\n<li>Reading and sharing books<\/li>\n<li>Learning outdoors, for example, pavement games, nature walks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Class Isolation<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the event of a\u00a0<u>whole class<\/u>\u00a0isolation, in the first instance, the above Remote Learning Plan will take place. Should the class teacher not be available, activities for your child\u2019s year group can be found under the isolation tab on our website.
