Our wonderful Captains and Vice Captains once again demonstrated their excellent leadership and organisational skills and they worked together to plan and deliver the Children’s Christmas Fun Day.  Please see below for a copy of the letter they sent to children and parents and see below this for some photographs of the event.

Letter from Captains and Vice Captains

Dear Children, Parents/Carers,
On Friday 9^th December, every child from P1-P7 will enjoy

• Christmas Jumper Day – we encourage everyone on this day to don either a Christmas jumper or wear a little or a lot of Christmas accessories, eg Rudolph antlers, Santa hat, tinsel etc, however we appreciate this is a personal choice.
• Christmas Lunch (with Christmas music for entertainment)
• A visit to the Christmas Fun Fair (last year was a huge success and the children still say what great fun they had)

Like last year, every child from P1-P7 has a small brown envelope where we ask if a donation can be made to support school fundraising by placing some coins in the envelope.  On Friday, the closed envelope should be returned to the school.

Before going to the fair, every child will be given 5 tokens to be used at the fair, eg 1 token = 5 raffle tickets for the Children’s Raffle or 1 token = 3 tickets for the Tombola or 1 token = I guess of the Bear’s Birthday etc.

At the Christmas Fun Fair, the children will have the opportunity to take part in

Christmas Treat Tuck Shop: Candy Canes and Christmas Chocolate lollies.

Guess the Bear’s Birthday: Another firm favourite last year was Guess the Bear’s Birthday and we will again be running this stall.  The winner will be announced on the day.

Children’s Raffle: We have been very generously supported by donations from Dunlop Post Office, Norman’s, Aldi in Stewarton and we have had lovely donations from families too.  We have approx 150 raffle prizes and the raffle will be drawn on Friday afternoon when the whole school is together in the hall.

‘Where’s Santa?: A game where the children choose a grid reference in the hope they have chosen where Santa is hiding.  There will be a winner chosen from each class, with each winner receiving a gift.

Toy and Book Stall: We also have an enormous Toy and Book Stall, (thank you parents your generous donations) and P6 have enjoyed checking all jigsaws and games to ensure all the pieces are there.  On Friday, the children can use a token at the stall to get an item or two.

Sweetie/Chocolate Tombola: Thank you to our very generous families who supported our dress down day in return for donating a treat to the tombola.  We have labelled all items and we have approx. 150 items for the Sweetie/Chocolate Tombola.

On Friday, each class will have a timed slot to visit the Christmas Fun Fair, the hall will be decorated, the tree will be resplendent, Christmas music will be playing and there will be festive merriment in abundance!

In the afternoon, we will all come together in the hall for the Children’s Raffle and to announce the winners of the games/bear etc, and we will finish with a Christmas Singalong.

The Christmas Fun Fair was a huge success and we collected over £400, but most importantly, every child took part and had a wonderful time!
