{"id":3453,"date":"2021-01-11T08:31:52","date_gmt":"2021-01-11T08:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/dunlopprimaryschool\/?p=3453"},"modified":"2021-01-11T08:31:52","modified_gmt":"2021-01-11T08:31:52","slug":"p3b-scottish-fortnight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/dunlopprimaryschool\/2021\/01\/11\/p3b-scottish-fortnight\/","title":{"rendered":"P3B Scottish Fortnight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In celebration of Burns Night and our annual Scottish Fortnight, the children are being asked to learn a short Scottish poem.<\/p>\n<p>Please remember, P3 take part in the whole school Scots Poetry Competition and the shortlisted 5 children will present their poem to the school, thereafter judging takes place to award a 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place for every class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please learn the following poem,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Twa Leggit Mice<\/p>\n<p>My mither says that we hae mice<br \/>\nThat open air-ticht tins<br \/>\nAnd eat her chocolate biscuits<br \/>\nAnd cakes and siclike things.<\/p>\n<p>Nae doubt it is an awful shame<br \/>\nThat mice should get the blame<br \/>\nIt?s really me that rypes the tins<br \/>\nWhen left my lane at hame<\/p>\n<p>But jings I get fair hungert<br \/>\nAnd biscuits taste sae nice<br \/>\nBut dinna tell my mither for<br \/>\nShe thinks it is the mice<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Use the following tips to help your presentation &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Speak clearly and audibly, remember pace of delivery \u2013 don\u2019t rush to finish!<\/li>\n<li>Stand smart and don\u2019t fidget<\/li>\n<li>Face the audience and give good eye contact<\/li>\n<li>To bring your poem presentation alive, you may put in actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t wait to see you and hear your poems when we return to class.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In celebration of Burns Night and our annual Scottish Fortnight, the children are being asked to learn a short Scottish poem.
