As part of our STEAM week, P2B had a great time planning, designing and constructing their own Scottish Castle in teams using Lego and blocks. They had to communicate effectively to ensure their castles were finished in the given time.
They used their engineering, art and design, and technology skills to complete this task.
P2B had a great time making peppermint creams by following their recipe they had created.
We had a great time eating them as well, they were delicious
Today we were learning how to total amounts of money, give change and write amounts using a decimal point.
Learning can be amazing fun too as you can see from the activities we had at maths time today. We can’t wait to have a go at our next money challenge.
As part of our climate change topic primary 6 have been learning about different types of renewable energy. We have been completing different STEAM challenges and our last one was to build a simple wind turbine. The children had to work in groups and were given different resources, depending on the country they represented.
As you can see from the videos below, some of the turbines were more successful than others.
A huge well done to all of our finalists who took part in our Scottish Poetry competition. They were all fantastic, the poor judges had a very tough job.

I am so proud of the 5 finalists who performed this morning in front of the whole school and our panel of judges. They were absolutely amazing.
Every child in our class learned and performed their poem “Michael”. I was so impressed with each and every one of them. Well done boys and girls. Happy teacher!
P2B have been learning all about subtraction with exchange using concrete materials and were all able to carry out a variety of calculations, explaining what they were doing and why.
Primary 6 have been exploring the relationship between decimals and fractions. Today they used Numicon to help them convert fractions to decimals. Well done primary 6!
