We have had a busy afternoon creating an African landscape with silhouettes of African animals. They look amazing!

P3a Wax Resist
We have been creating some spectacular artwork relating to our class topic of Africa. Today we finished our wax resist creations of an elephant in an African landscape. Wouldn’t you agree the children’s work looks fantastic?
P4 Roald Dahl Day
The children in P4 came to school dressed in yellow (Roald Dahl’s favourite colour) and had a day celebrating his wonderful books. We completed a mental maths quiz with some of his much loved characters. We joined in the Puffin School Activity session which was great fun. We listened to extracts from some of his famous novels and we took part in a drawing class to create one of the mice from the book “The Witches”. The drawings are amazing!
P4 Marvellous Measuring
The children have recently completed a block of maths work on length. They discussed appropriate units to use for measuring a variety of objects and then they drew and measured giant flowers and caterpillars using metres and centimetres. This was a fun way of rounding off our learning. Well done everyone. Great teamwork too!
P3a Active Literacy
I have loved getting to know all the children during the short time I have been in Primary 3a. We have our Active Literacy programme up and running and have enjoyed using different materials such as elkonin boxes and pipe cleaners to practice our words each week.
We have also loved exploring and learning about our new topic which is all about Africa/Kenya. Why don’t you ask the children to show off what they have learned.
