Primary 4 worked in pairs to create a PowerPoint presentation to display their knowledge of Australian States and Territories. This included learning how to access PowerPoint on the GLOW platform as well as learning how to edit the font/colour/background and locate then insert images from the internet. P4 worked very hard and managed to come up with some very creative designs.
Primary 1 Fairyland
Primary 1 have been loving their Fairyland topic, here is a couple of the super activities they have taken part in from the stories Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel.
We have planted our own pumpkins which seem to be doing really well and made our own gingerbread houses.
Primary Three Art
P5 Basketball Skills
We thought you’d like to see how we are getting on with our block of basketball skills in P.E. this term.
We worked on defending, dribbling and footwork skills today before trying some mini games.
The children are showing lots of improvement. You can hear them calling out in the video clip to let a player know they have put themselves in a good space to receive a pass.
Lots of happy faces and rosy cheeks afterwards.
P6 – Creative Thinking & Problem Solving
P6 used their creative thinking and problem solving skills during their start of day activity today. Pupils combined the attributes of two different products to create and design a new concept.
We shared our ideas with one another and Mrs Kelly was very impressed with the different ideas the pupils had created including:
- a self cleaning car
- eco friendly brakes for a train
- a lazy eating chair
- a freezing teddy bear from warm nights
- drone pram
Primary 3 Happiness
Today Primary 3 had a great discussion about happiness. The children talked about all the things that make them happy.
Primary 3 Capital letters and full stops
The children had a great discussion all about when to use capital letters and full stops. Then the children had to correct sentences that had full stops and capital letters missing or in the wrong place.
Primary 7 – Fitness Circuits
This term, as part of our PE lessons, Primary 7 will be completing fitness circuits. The children will log their progress each week and this information will be used as part of work on data handling.
Primary 3 Sun, moon and stars
Primary three have been learning about the sun, moon and stars. The children enjoyed using pastels to create the sun and earth before using paint to add the moon. The children are now creating an astronaut to add to the picture.
P5 We Love Marty!
Today the children were beyond excited to meet Marty the robot!
The children used Scratch Editor to put together blocks of coding which made Marty walk, dance, light up, whistle, kick, wave and even do the splits!
I was so proud of how well the children worked as teams. They supported each other and learned form each other. Amazing to see. Lots of smiles and laughter too.
Throughout the session the children will develop their coding skills and use their knowledge to solve problems with Marty. They will also have lots of fun at the same time.
