P7 Open Hour STEM Challenge

For open hour, P7 had 60 minutes to use what they had learned about flood resilient homes in Bangladesh to create their own houses. Pupils had time in their groups to work through developing their specifications and design ideas before beginning their models. They all did extremely well with this challenge.

Thank you to all the parents that came along and also helped the children.

Numeracy Parent/Carer Information Booklets

After feedback from Parent/carers we have created information booklets to give more clarity in some of the concepts covered in school with notes on how to lay out calculations and the language used when discussing numeracy with your child. These booklets cover a whole level which can take up to 3 years to cover so please be mindful of the stage your child is at and use the Numeracy Bookmarks that were sent home earlier in the session to guide you.

Dunlop’s Got Talent 2019

Last term we held Dunlop’s Got Talent 2019. There were a number of different acts all keen to show us what they could. We are always amazed at the range of talents our pupils have from singing to limbo! No matter what the the talent is,  it is the children’s confidence and enthusiasm that shines through and makes it one of our yearly highlights.

Pupils will complete a block of non-fiction reading in relation to their IDL topic. This will include accessing information from a range of sources. Shared Learning

Primary 6 and 7 have been learning about the human body. As part of this topic they are learning about the respiratory system. Primary 7 very kindly came into primary 6 today to share their posters and facts. The children spoke confidently and demonstrate some great understanding about a complicated subject, well done P7!
Primary 6 are now creating their own posters to show demonstrate their knowledge. Watch this space!

P7 Science Posters

As part of our Human Body topic, primary 7 have been learning about the respiratory system. Pupils had to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding by completing a poster displaying as much information as possible. Each pair then peer-assessed their posters against the success criteria and provided next steps.
