We had a lovely afternoon baking shortbread. We will be continuing to make some lovely Scottish recipes. Next time we will try to make sure there is enough for the grownups too.

Harvest Collection 2021
Our newly elected Captains and Vice Captains met to plan and organise this year’s Harvest collection, and this year they chose the AYRSHIRE (EAST) FOODBANK (seeded by The Trussell Trust)to be the receiving charity.
AYRSHIRE (EAST) FOODBANK
‘We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.’
Today our Harvest collection was expertly led by the Vic Captains and after collecting the food items they then had the hard job of packing this ready for the foodbank to collect.
The Captains and Vice Captains, extend a huge thank you to our school community for their generosity and kindness.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to the Captains and Vice Captains for their citizenship and raising awareness for food poverty.
Kind regards, Mrs Nouillan
P1-P3 The Wriggly Nativity
P1-P3 preparations for the infant nativity began today, be forewarned, the songs are catchy and the children already said they can’t get them out their head!
To help us get ready for our performance, please open the Sway presentation for the songs, although this is optional!

Once the Sway is open, there are 8 songs, to access the songs, press the play button on the top right hand corner.

P1 Fairyland
P1 had an amazing time this afternoon when taking part in a science experiment, making butter. The children guessed how they could make the butter, some predictions were:
- using milk and flour then cook
- salt in a tub and shake it
- putting cheese in the oven for 5 minutes
In two groups, pupils were given tubs with double cream which they had to shake as much as they could. This allowed the fat molecules to clump together and create butter and buttermilk. We put the butter in the fridge for 20 minutes and when it was ready, enjoyed it spread on a pancake.
