P4 Open Hour

Thank you so much to all our visitors for coming along on Monday afternoon to join in our Scotland Fortnight learning experiences.

The children enjoyed working on their PowerPoints and sharing their knowledge with you. The ‘toories’ were tricky but the results are fab and the children are proud of their efforts. You can see some of our finished ‘tartan tammies’ in the picture.

Sorry I couldn’t be there but thank you to Mrs Nouillan for her support.

Well done to Mr & Mrs Milligan and Mrs C. Young for being joint winners of my Scottish Dialect Challenge scoring 9 out of 13. Yay! 🙂

P4 Christmas Raffle

What a lovely last day we have had. The Christmas Post Office is closed for 2019.

Our final delivery was done by two happy elves! 🙂

Our raffle was very exciting this afternoon. Mr Stewart enjoyed choosing the lucky tickets and the children were all delighted with their prizes.

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone.

P4 Fun Friday

We all enjoyed watching Polar Express down in the Village Hall in the morning.

Our Christmas Lunch was delicious too.

In the afternoon the children enjoyed decorating  their beautiful wooden tree decorations. They took such care and I think the results are just amazing. They are looking forward to taking them home this week.

P4 Christmas Craft

It has begun!

We have made a start on creating some lovely things to bring home for Christmas.

Our Tryptyche Windows were really tricky to make. We had to cut lots of thin black circles and stick them on to the fragile rainbow tissue. Then our window frames were carefully  cut from black card and folded. They look amazing in front of a window with the light shining through.

Our spiral snowmen are twirling happily above us in class too.

We have a few more surprises still to come!

P4 Dunlop Christmas Post

Our Sorting Office has had a busy first week. Cards have been dropping in by the sack load. It was much harder work to sort and organise the cards than P4 had thought it would be.

Delivery elves are enjoying  jingling their bells and shouting “Ho Ho Ho Christmas Post!” as they pop into each class with their cards every day.

Everyone has a slot for sorting and delivering our Christmas mail.

Thank you for labelling the envelopes clearly with names and classes which helps make the job much easier.

Merry Christmas from all of us in P4.

P4 and P3 Social Dancing

Well it is that time of the year. We all remember it well. The children in Primaries 3 and 4 are really enjoying learning some Scottish Country  Dances in preparation for their Christmas Party.

They can already dance The Circle Waltz, The Canadian Barn Dance and The Military Two Step.

We have also had fun dancing these traditional dances to some modern music too.

We are really looking forward to our party.

P4 Coding Challenge!

Wow! I am so impressed.

Today the children had a visit from the SSPCA.  They learned about the work done locally and where the rescue and rehoming centres are.

The children had to think about how animals feel when they are neglected or mistreated.

In small groups they then built a robot rabbit which they  programmed, using their tablet, to make the rabbit stories, which they had created, come to life.

Fabulous teamwork and amazing coding and programming skills.

An amazing experience!

P4 Water Cycle Poster Challenge

To complete this part of our Science topic , the children were given a design brief and they worked so well  in trios to produce their Water Cycle Posters.

They will be using these to present what they have learned to a younger class.

I was most impressed by their creativity and their care to meet all 5 design features listed on the brief cards.

Amazing work P4!
