September 28, 2021 Miss White 3 Comments

Primary 5 have been taking part in weekly music lessons. It has been lovely to hear children singing in the school again, as this is something that all of the staff of Dunlop Primary School have missed. Click on the link below to listen to the children perform two songs,

Maths Outdoors

September 28, 2021 Miss White Leave a comment

For today’s Maths lesson, Primary 7 went outside to do some maths activities. We did a Maths Question Hunt with lots of different questions hidden around the playground. Along with some activities such as Place Value Bingo, a Maths Relay Race and much more. All of us had great fun and we hope to do it again.

Today we completed our own Place Value Key designs using natural and found items.

We are excited to try making 5 and 6 digit numbers with our number systems tomorrow which will show our knowledge and understanding of place value

We hope the weather will be good. We will share our outdoor work with you tomorrow.

Experimenting with Marty the Robot

September 28, 2021 Miss White 1 Comment

Primary 7 were creating obstacle courses for Marty the Robot. They had to code Marty to avoid the obstacles. They had to experiment and find the right way to code Marty to the end. We are all enjoying experimenting with Marty.

P4 – Maths Week Scotland

September 27, 2021 Miss Ainsworth Leave a comment

To start the week, p4 made the most of the outdoors and created arrays for their partners to try and come up with as many multiplication calculations as they could. They then peer assessed to see if they managed to find them all.

Primary three Maths Week Scotland Challenge

The children were asked to estimate how many numbers between 0-100 have a six in them. Then the children wrote down all the numbers they found with a six before checking how good their estimate was.
