I am so proud of the 5 finalists who performed this morning in front of the whole school and our panel of judges. They were absolutely amazing.
Every child in our class learned and performed their poem “Michael”. I was so impressed with each and every one of them. Well done boys and girls. Happy teacher!
P2B have been learning all about subtraction with exchange using concrete materials and were all able to carry out a variety of calculations, explaining what they were doing and why.
Primary 6 have been exploring the relationship between decimals and fractions. Today they used Numicon to help them convert fractions to decimals. Well done primary 6!

Primary 7 did a fantastic job at their Burns Breakfast. They have worked incredibly hard to learn their poems, speeches and songs and put on a fantastic performance.

Completed houses ready for the test!
For open hour, P7 had 60 minutes to use what they had learned about flood resilient homes in Bangladesh to create their own houses. Pupils had time in their groups to work through developing their specifications and design ideas before beginning their models. They all did extremely well with this challenge.

What a busy day! This afternoon Primary 6 were experimenting with BBC Microbits. The children had fun programming their micro bits to count their steps.
During the lesson the children used block code to program. They also managed to adapt their code in order to improve their “Fitbits”.
The children also put their maths skills to the test when they made watch straps in order to support their Microbits.
Primary 6 have been invited to enter the Kilmaurs Photography Clubs annual photograph competition in March. This year the theme is “Our Town” and as you can imagine the children had lots of ideas about the areas they wanted to capture to show Dunlop off at its best.
We were very fortunate that Mrs Cooley was able to come into school to offer us all some advice on how to capture that perfect picture. I now have the huge task on trying to narrow down the huge selection of pictures down in order for the class to select their 6 favourite images.
