P4 and P3 Social Dancing

Well it is that time of the year. We all remember it well. The children in Primaries 3 and 4 are really enjoying learning some Scottish Country  Dances in preparation for their Christmas Party.

They can already dance The Circle Waltz, The Canadian Barn Dance and The Military Two Step.

We have also had fun dancing these traditional dances to some modern music too.

We are really looking forward to our party.

P4 Coding Challenge!

Wow! I am so impressed.

Today the children had a visit from the SSPCA.  They learned about the work done locally and where the rescue and rehoming centres are.

The children had to think about how animals feel when they are neglected or mistreated.

In small groups they then built a robot rabbit which they  programmed, using their tablet, to make the rabbit stories, which they had created, come to life.

Fabulous teamwork and amazing coding and programming skills.

An amazing experience!

Primary 5 Minecraft

Primary 5 have been learning about deforestation and sustainability. They were given a Minecraft challenge to create a sustainable farmhouse that would have little long-term environmental impact.

The children came up with some amazing ideas such as solar panels, windmills and crop fields, to name a few! I’m still so impressed with how creative the children are and look forward to planning the next Minecraft challenge!

Term 1

From now until the Christmas holidays the children will be revisiting the following sounds and spelling words:

a, s, t, p, i, n, r, m, d, e, c, k, g, l, f, o, b, u.

a, at, the, I, in, it, an, is, and, am, me, my, did, as, he, can, we, into.

If you wish to reinforce these at home, please do so using Active Literacy strategies from the booklet.

Primary 3 Smelly Classroom

We had lots of fun investigating different smells.

Our classroom does not smell great today. We have some really disgusting smelling things in our bin.

Some smells were lovely, especially the chocolate but Mr Stewart will not be happy with the onion in our bin.

As you can see we liked some of the smells but not all of them.
