As we have been learning about saving the planet, recycling and reusing items, we decided that today we would take the toys away and give the children cardboard boxes and plastic tubs and bottles to explore and investigate.
Many of the children were a bit shocked when they came in and there were no toys to play with.  It didn’t take them long to begin exploring and seeing what they could do with the different items.  The children used their problem solving and questioning skills alongside their imaginations throughout the day.

We had a proposal, racing cars, buildings, rockets and lots of hiding and drawing on the boxes.

The children all said they had fun today but, they can’t wait for the toys to come back out on Monday!
