Happy 100th Birthday Colonel Tom

Happy 100th Birthday Colonel Tom, we salute you!

Today the children in the Kilmaurs/Dunlop Hub school have been researching this wonderful man and they have also made him birthday cards which are now in the post (a little late but better late than never!!)

We wish Colonel Tom a wonderful day and we hope he is enjoying lots of cake as he reads some of his 150,000 birthday cards.

And, huge congratulations to you on your new Colonel title, we all think it is very well deserved. The children of the hub think you too are a hero!

with warmest wishes, Mrs Nouillan

Sibling Home Learning Fun

Good morning and isn’t it lovely to see these two having so much fun with their home learning!

These two adorable siblings have been busy with baking, science, planting, arts and crafts and they are even helping out with dishes! I also spy a Spring Scavenger sheet too!

I say it all the time, but we are really missing being at school and being with the children so it is so lovely for us all to see photographs of them!

I look forward to receiving more photographs to add to our blog.

with warmest regards, Mrs Nouillan

Lots of Fun in the Sun

Good afternoon,

I have received lots of photos showing a very busy boy!  His mum says he is missing the nursery but is keeping busy!  He is playing outside a lot, he has learned to ride his bike without stabilisers, he has been creative in the garden, had lots of water fun and found a butterfly!

It looks like he is having lots of fun in the sun!

We love seeing the children, so please send us your photographs for us all to enjoy!

with kind regards, Mrs Nouillan

Fun Home Learning

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the sunny weather and having lots of fun in your garden or just enjoying a community walk.

Today I received photographs from two delightful brothers and they have been having lots of fun together and playing in their garden.  They have also been taking their dogs, George and Mildred on walks (if you are a child of the 70s you’ll know!!) although Mildred is taking it easy as she is recovering from an operation so only gentle walks for her!

It is so lovely for us to see the children of Dunlop Primary and ECC and I welcome all your photos for me to add to the blog.

with warmest regards, Mrs Nouillan

Two Sisters and Their Fun Home Learning

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all safe and well and enjoying some lovely sunshine, although it is a little cold so if you are outdoors, then wrap up warm.

I hope you have been enjoying some of the activities I have shared on the app, especially this week’s Spring theme..there were lots of super activities to keep little ones busy and entertained.

I received a lovely email from a family and they have shared lots of photographs of their fun learning, they have been busy in their home, garden and also enjoying their community walks and it looks like they met a bear too!

Please remember, you are most welcome to send me your photographs and I will add them to our blog..it would be lovely for us to see the children as we miss them so much.

Extreme Reading Indeed!

We have a late entry to our ECC Extreme Reading Challenge and this looks pretty extreme!

Our extreme reader was harnessed up at Clip and Climb in Glasgow and managed to scale the tallest tower but she also took a little time out to enjoy one of her favourite Emily Brown books too!

Well done extreme reader, thank you for taking part.

with kind regards, Mrs Nouillan

Thank you so much to the boys and girls from both the primary and ECC who took part in the Extreme Reading Challenge, please enjoy looking at the photographs below.

Please note – some of our extreme readers look like they are in danger but we can safely report, no one was injured and lots of good fun was had by all!

Thank you again for taking part, with kind regards, Mrs Nouillan

Dunlop Primary and ECC – Vision and Values

After lots of stakeholder consultation with children, staff and parents/carers, and with support from the Pupil Council Leadership Group,  our new values are:

Happy        Respectful           Kind         Honest

In the ECC, we will be engaging in lots of super learning to support the children in their understanding of these values and how they can be guided by them.

Our new values support the Dunlop Primary and ECC vision, Climb that Hill, and this vision embodies our children moving forwards and upwards at a pace that is suitable to their needs.

Look out for lots of lovely learning relating to the vision and values.

with kind regards, Mrs Nouillan
