Looking for bugs in the Wee Gardens

The morning children visited the Wee Garden’s this morning. Todays focus began at the large bug house, the children spent time observing the different areas of the house to see if they could find different insects. The children asked lots of questions about  who may live in the different sections, they talked about the different leaves, berries, herbs, shrubs and plants in the area, whilst taking care to ensure the area and insects was not overly disturbed. They discussed the habitat of spiders, snakes, slugs, snails, ladybirds and sat very quietly whilst a blackbird sang in the large tree. (Hoping it might come down to visit us)

After our snack we visited the wilder area of the Wee Gardens and the children’s imaginative side was more evident. They travelled by wooden mushroom, built a new shop, made pizza and chocolate cake, used twigs as forks and spoons and used the large tyres as a camp site travelling there by campervan.
