Dunlop Primary and ECC – Vision and Values

After lots of stakeholder consultation with children, staff and parents/carers, and with support from the Pupil Council Leadership Group,  our new values are:

Happy        Respectful           Kind         Honest

In the ECC, we will be engaging in lots of super learning to support the children in their understanding of these values and how they can be guided by them.

Our new values support the Dunlop Primary and ECC vision, Climb that Hill, and this vision embodies our children moving forwards and upwards at a pace that is suitable to their needs.

Look out for lots of lovely learning relating to the vision and values.

with kind regards, Mrs Nouillan

Mini Forest Week 1

It was a beautiful day to start our Mini Forest adventure today. We had 10 children  and  we set off for a fun day of learning. Our first job was a  quick chat about safety rules and then it was into the Mini Forest to explore. Trees to climb and branches to swing on,mud, sticks and places to hide. Hide and seek and games of chase and pirates too. Mrs Gray and I look forward to next Monday and our adventures in the Mini Forest  regards Mrs Orr.

Keeping Cosy and Dry!

The Scottish Government’s expansion of the early years provision is rooted in delivering a high quality experience for children utilising both indoors and outdoors play.

In Dunlop ECC, we wholeheartedly believe in outdoors play and investigation and we provide  daily opportunities to play, investigate, discover and learn outdoors, in all weather!

The experiences we provide ignite curiosity while developing a wide range of skills, enabling our youngest children to become Successful Learners who have a love of outdoors!

Learning outdoors enables the children to experience the changing seasons, the weather, wildlife, planting and growing as well as just being able to explore, investigate, discover and play.

We believe there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing and to enable the children’s on-going participation in a wide range of outdoor learning experiences across the changing seasons, we have the proper clothing and footwear to keep the children cosy and dry.

Since returning in August 2019, our outdoor clothes have been replaced to include new outdoor jackets and new Mini Forest School wet weather suits.  On behalf of the children and the ECC staff team, we say a massive thank you to the Parent Council who very kindly paid for these and they are already being well used.

Please look out for our continuous blog posts which show outdoor learning is at the heart of the children’s experiences.

with kind regards, Mrs Nouillan
