18/5/18
Today marked the last day of our ice cream enterprise project. We all worked incredibly hard selling ice cream at 3 o’clock over the past 2 weeks and are delighted to have made a profit of £585.30!!! We have to give some money back to the rotary club as they helped us start out our venture. We are all so pleased with how successful our business idea was and and we had so much fun selling (and eating!) ice cream.
Thank you very much to everyone who supported us.

15/5/18
Today was STEM themed day across the school. Firstly, we gathered materials from the outdoor area which we could use to build a raft. Then we got time in groups to build our rafts. We had to design them in a way so that they could float on water and hold weights.
We then investigated the different rafts by testing them in a water tray. Some of the rafts sank straight away and others floated, but held different amounts of weight. We discussed the design of each raft and why they floated or sank. The winning raft which stayed afloat for longest and held the most weight was Sophie, Ritchie and Christopher’s design. We think this was the winning raft as it was the flattest design, built with a support structure and also had the largest surface area to support the weights.
Well done everyone!

12/5/18
We have been looking at Article 29 of our rights which covers protecting the environment. We researched and discussed protecting the environment for World Earth day at the end of last month and we created posters highlighting ways that we could look after the environment.

We have also been calculating our expenses using a budget and we have been to collect supplies from local businesses who have kindly helped us out (Woody’s Ice cream and Portland Janitorial).
Good luck with the ice-cream business! (From Mrs O’Driscoll)
