Christmas

Our Christmas festivities started on Saturday 29th November at the Dalmellington Community Council Christmas Fayre.  Well done to our choir for a fantastic job singing our festive favourites for our community to enjoy!

A huge thank you to our Parent Council who have given all our pupils in the ECC and Primary School an advent calendar to count down until Santa comes!

P1-P7 popped into Ayr to the cinema to see ‘Home Alone’.  We enjoyed a wee treat of juice and popcorn!

Our ECC enjoyed decorating their Christmas tree and a visit from ‘Uncle Billy’s Christmas Magic Show’ with tricks, games and a disco!

Our Christmas Post Box has returned again this year!  Pupils can post their Christmas cards for their friends at Dalmellington ECC and Primary School.  Every Friday until the end of term, our House and Vice Captains will deliver all the cards.

Our House Captains have visited local businesses who have generously donated prizes for our raffle which was drawn at our evening performance of the Christmas Show.  Pupils had a dress down day and brought in chocolate donations for our annual Chocolate Hamper. Thank you to our school community who bought hundreds of raffle tickets!  Congratulations to everyone who won a prize!

We would like to say a huge thank you to the following local businesses who donated prizes:

Classic Cuts

Dalmellington Country Butcher

Doon Valley DIY Store

How Convenient

Kay’s Pet Shop

The Bacas

Valley Coffee House

Our fabulous catering team prepared a delicious Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 10th December!  We enjoyed our lunch with some festive tunes to sing along to!

Our pupils performed their shows for our school community.  P1-3 wonderfully performed ‘The Midwife Crisis’ and P4-7 created a spectacular show ‘The Jingle Book’.  Well done to all pupils and staff for all their hard work in putting their shows together and to parents/carers for supporting the children in learning their lines and with costumes.  A special shout out for the staff who also created the backdrops, props and an extra sparkly stage, with lights purchased by our Parent Council.  The local Scout group also provided us with mics and a sound system to use.  Thank you to the Dalmellington community for supporting us!

Our ECC and P1-3 enjoyed a visit from Santa, dancing, party games and even managed some tasty treats at their Christmas Parties!

Primary 7 received an early Christmas present! They got their Primary 7 leavers hoodies. They were delighted to receive them and couldn’t wait to try them on.

Our P4-7s enjoyed their Christmas party too, with lots of fun, games, laughter and dancing!

On Tuesday 16th December, our choir performed some festive favourites at Doon Academy’s Christmas Concert.  Our choir sang beautifully and were full of confidence and spread some Christmas cheer!
