Pupil Leadership Groups

All our pupil groups meet with their lead teacher every 2 weeks and take forward school improvement priorities.  At the start of each session, pupils choose which group they would like to participate in. Our displays are updated regularly to reflect our current work.

Pupil Council

Our Pupil Council ensure that pupil voice and views are heard and have the opportunities to share opinions on the life of our school.  They support school evaluation and decision making to improve aspects of our school.

Rights Respecting Squad

Our RRS Squad are working on our Gold Action Plan, which includes promoting the importance of our rights and looking at supporting rights through UNICEF’s ‘Outright Campaign’.  They focus on teaching about Article 42:

Global Goals Group

Our Global Goals group are creating our own Global Goals Charters and supporting our learning of the goals.  They aim to raise awareness of all 17 Global Goals in our school and community.  The Global Goals link with all 42 articles in the UNCRC.

Climate Champions

Our Climate Champions group are working towards their Clean Green Silver Action Plan and becoming aware of global issues which we can help with in our environment.  They are working on eco friendly projects with East Ayrshire’s Clean Green team and lead Halloween and Christmas Swap Shops where pre-loved costumes and jumpers can be handed in for others to enjoy.

Health and Wellbeing Champions

Our HWB Champions support us with learning about mental, physical and social health.  Our ‘B’s Buddies’ support us with peer relationships in the playground and with healthy lifestyle choices.  They are also working towards our ‘Sports Scotland Silver Award’.

Digital Schools

Our Digital Schools group are working together to develop awareness of Internet Safety and how digital technology is used in our classrooms. They are supporting whole school digital events and how we look after the devices to ensure they can be used for years to come.

Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs)

Our JRSOs support our learning of road safety as part of the right to be safe and protected from harm.  They teach pupils at assemblies, read themed stories to our ECC and plan whole school events such as ‘Be Bright Be Seen’ and ‘Walk to School Week’.
