We had fun at sports day. We enjoyed watching the different races. Well done to Dunlop house for winning the cup.
Health Week Day One.
This morning we joined primary 3 to hear all about Callum & Rory’s mum’s  adventure completing the London Marathon. She told us all about her training journey and the things she needed to support her during the 26.2mile race. We were all fascinated by how well she ran the London Marathon. After that the primary 4 girls played football against Darvel Primary. The blue team from Fenwick won :). We then went with primary 6 on a mindfulness walk around the village. We worked in pairs to see if we could find items on our walk which began with each letter of the alphabet.
National Digital Learning Week Fun
We used Pic Collage on the Ipads to create a persuasive poster to encourage others to recycle their plastic. It was lots of fun.
Step Inside
We used our Making Thinking Visible strategy of Step Inside to step inside the character of Matilda. We had to think about how Matilda was feeling, what she was thinking and what she could observe/notice in the chapters we have read so far.
Marvellous Measuring.
We started our new maths topic this week which is measurement. We started with length and we took part in lots of activities measuring objects outside and around the classroom in metres, centimetres and millimetres. We even measured parts of our body using measuring tapes.
Fruitastic
We learned how to chop fruit using the bridge hold and the claw grip. We made a tasty fruit salad.
Laptops
We used the paint software on the laptops to create a symmetrical picture.
Outdoor Symmetry
We went outside to find shapes that were symmetrical. We then worked in pairs where one person drew half a picture and the other person had to make it symmetrical.
Spring Walk
We went a walk and used our sense to create a Spring poem.
Toontastic Fractions
We used the Toontastic app on the iPads to create a video with information about fractions.
