25.3.20: Learning Update
Please remember to check the Updates Page on the school website.
Staff have been working remotely from home and are in the process of making Learning Grids that will be available from the class blogs from Monday to supplement the learning packs issued and Education City and Giglets.
Please be aware there is no expectation to complete everything and these activities and tasks should be spread out over time.
Thank you for your support and understanding at this time.
23.3.20 – Education City/Giglets Issues
Hi P1,
You might be having problems logging in to Education City and Giglets today, this is due to lots of children trying to log on. They are working on solving the problem.
If you are having problems, remember to look at Resources and Activities page on the website which has links to websites we use in class. You could challenge yourself to play Hit the Button and see how many calculations you get right!
Mrs Conetta
Audible – audio books
Audible has announced that during the school closure period, they will be allowing access to their audio books for children, click here to get started. I hope you enjoy spending some time listening to the stories available. If you wish, you could comment on this post sharing what you have read and we can see what is the most popular in P1.
KEEP FIT!
Joe Wicks, The Body Coach will be streaming live PE sessions at 9am, fancy joining him? Here is the link to access today’s video, click here.
PicCollage
P1 learnt to take photos on the iPads. They were to take photos of different things in the classroom that used a push, a pull and a twist force.
They then used PicCollage to show the photos they had taken.
World Book Day
P1 loved sharing their favourite bedtime story and bedtime teddy with the class this afternoon.
They also enjoyed listening to stories from our volunteers and Mrs Conetta, who brought in her favourite story as a child!
Handa’s Surprise Fruit Survey
In groups, P1 visited some classes to do a favourite fruit survey. They used some of the fruit from Handa’s Surprise as their choices. They collected the information in tally marks and then displayed the information in a pictograms.
Shrove Tuesday and Fairtrade
We learn about the importance of Shrove Tuesday to Christians and make pancakes in class.
As this is Fairtrade Fortnight, we made the pancakes using Fairtrade ingredients and thanks Sainsburys for donating the ingredients we used to make the pancakes and our yummy toppings!
10 train subtraction
We love making our own subtraction calculations and using our ten trains to help us.
