If we have reason to believe a child is unwell or may have a raised temperature, a member of our ECC staff will gently take their temperature using a digital thermometer. We will record this and communicate the result with you. This will always be done respectfully, with the child’s dignity and comfort maintained at all times.

With the rise in winter illnesses and other infections at certain times of year, we remain especially vigilant; however, temperatures may be taken at any point during the ECC term if we suspect that a child might be unwell.

🔎 What is a Fever?

A child is generally considered to have a fever if their body temperature is 38°C (100.4°F) or higher. temperature and is unwell, they should not attend nursery or childcare until their temperature has returned to normal and they are well enough to participate in nursery
