Aiken Drum visited the ECC and the children really enjoyed his Christmas Show. There were lots of songs to join in and they especially liked We’re Going On a Bear Hunt.
The ECC children along with the school choir sang their Christmas songs in the village square. Both the morning and afternoon performances had a great audience of family and friends.
Catrine ECC was an exhibitor at East Ayrshire’s O Factor, this was a showcase for all the amazing outdoor learning that is happening throughout East Ayrshire.
Jan Wardrop our Outdoor Learning Champion in the ECC was a Nominee for the Excellent Outdoor Practitioner Award. This was for the hard work she has put in to improving and extending Outdoor Learning in the ECC. This was shown in the efforts she put in to the stall she set up for the O Factor exhibition. Practitioners from other centres showed lots of interest and Jan was happy to explain all the things we have been doing.
Group 4 had an excellent visit to Catrine Primary School. We even popped in to assembly to see all the crazy hair for walk to school week.
Another fantastic transition morning with Group 3 visiting the ‘big’ school.
Group 3 will be visiting Miss Burleigh on Monday 14th May. Arrangements are the same as the previous visit and also remember to bring along a snack for play time. Looking forward to it!
Group 2 had a lovely morning at Catrine Primary School. We completed jigsaws, built high towers and planted magic beans to grow our own beanstalk. The children really enjoyed sitting together at playtime and getting to know their buddies.
The children from the ECC joined Miss Burleigh and Primary 1/2 for a morning of literacy activities. We had magnetic letter matching, drawing in the sand, jigsaws and the Bee-Bot mat to name a few. The Primary 6’s also enjoyed a catch up with their buddies. A fantastic morning was had by all.
