As Catrine Primary School is so blogtastic we were running out of space on our Glow usage site so we’ve had to create a new site so we could continue sharing the news, achievements and online learning at Catrine Primary School. You will appreciate that these changes will take time especially in the current circumstances – so please be patient.
Pupils should continue to access their individual GLOW blogs to upload their learning and communicate with their teachers in their usual way.
Please click on the link below to access our new blog:
Please do not phone the school regarding provision for your child from Monday 23 March as information is changing hourly. As soon as the school has been advised, the information will be shared with you via this APP and Glow. Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding at this time.
The staff at both Catrine P.S. and ECC would like to thank you for your support and understanding during these unsettled times. We appreciate your concerns and worries and hopefully by working together we can answer your questions.
We will update our GLOW Blog/ParentPay email and APP with any further updates following the First Minister’s announcements this afternoon. All EAC advice and guidelines will also be shared via these channels.
All pupils who are in school today will be going home with a learning pack – this is a copy of all of their login details for lots of online learning. Pupils use these resource on a regular basis in school and are familiar with them.
Also included is a list of appropriate websites that your child can access during this time.
Pupils not in school today will receive this information through the post.
Please note, at this time, all learning will be provided digitally – as learning and progress can be tracked by teachers.
Teachers will be updating their classes GLOW information daily, so please ensure that your child logs on every day.
Primary 7 parents – we have discussed leaver’s activities with Primary 7 pupils today (look out for this information).
Primary 7 is hosting a guessing competition to raise funds for their leavers hoodies “guess the amount of books on the shelf”. For £1.00 each pupil can have 2 guesses. On ParentPay it defaults to £1.00, but you can have as many guesses as you want! Just add your payment to ParentPay then Primary 7 pupils will ask the children to complete a form the following day. All forms will be collected daily and the winner(s) will be announced on Friday 20 March. Happy guessing!!
Total raised from the book fayre was £457.35!! The school received £182.94 worth of books due to the 40% commission! Each class got to choose a selection of books for their class libraries. Thank you to everyone who helped this happen.
The school would like to thank parents/carers/family and friends for your continued support!
We are keen to support parents to ensure all young people are Cyber safe, especially with the growing use of a wide range of Apps and online forms of communication (WhatsApp/TikTok/Instagram/Snapchat etc). As part of our continued commitment, we are delighted to promote our new ‘Safer Schools’ App. This App is a reliable source of advice on all things Cyber. It gives empowering, current and informative information on all current digital platforms/tools/apps in an accessible manner. We have a range of tailored user accesses (pupil, staff and parents/carers). To access your parent platform please:
-Go to your app store or Google Play and search for ‘Safer School’
-In school field type ‘East Ayrshire Council’
-The code for primary parents is: 7440
We would recommend that you discuss with your child about which apps and social media platforms they currently use/access. This will help ensure they know how to stay safe online – using the app to start these types of conversations is great.
