The children have started to read about Lila, a little Hare who learns about what happens when you break the rules or make a mistake. It encourages the children to think about people they can trust and talk to, and how this is important.
We have had great fun in the Elmer room this week with all the ‘junk’ brought in from home, most of us created our own Castle.
Meet our new safety superhero, Safe Suzie.
The children enjoyed making up a name for our character and designing her outfit.
Suzie will be encouraging us to learn about ways to keep safe in the ECC, out and about and in the home.
Julie and Leoni have been encouraging the children to be independent at snack and introduce these skills to our new starts.
The children have enjoyed setting up a café in our greenspace this week in our mud kitchen, thank you to all the parents/guardians who kindly donated utensils.
We have had lots of fun making a Santa’s workshop in the ECC, we made lots of Christmas pictures to decorate the room with and made our very own Santa’s sleigh. Santa and his elves have been busy making and wrapping presents to deliver all over the world.
In the Elmer Room the children have been exploring opposites and trying different experiments.
Yellow group’s visit to the Cevic centre.
We got arty.
We made a huge paper chain, to decorate the institute. We got messy. We made some Christmas pictures. We enjoyed using the parachute.
When you come into the ECC this week why not have some fun trying to guess who is who on our baby board. The staff have kindly dug out some old photographs of them as children and have taken a photograph of them now for you all to try and match. Hope you all have fun.
We have been learning about babies and what it takes to care for a baby. We have set up a baby clinic in the playroom and the children are enjoying bathing and caring for their babies.
We have been learning about ways to keep us healthy and safe in the ECC. The children asked if they could learn to play football. We took it in turns to go outside in small groups to have mini football sessions. We had to have a warm-up first, mini drills and then we played some football matches. The children were learning how to take-turns, follow instructions and work as a team.
