I am delighted and very proud to inform you that I have just received confirmation from Education Scotland that both Catrine Primary School and Catrine ECC are both fully signed off from the inspection process following our EAC Authority review in October. This is a testament to the commitment, dedication and professionalism of all members of staff at both establishments. Official notification from Education Scotland will follow in the new year.
What wonderful news to be able to share with you right before the Christmas Holidays!
At East Ayrshire’s request as from Monday 6 January 2020 I will be temporarily taking over a shared headship with Sorn Primary School. This means that I will be working between Catrine Primary School, Catrine ECC and Sorn Primary School. Our open door policy remains unchanged, please contact Catrine Primary School office to make an appointment. I remain committed to ensuring that Catrine Primary School and ECC continue to deliver excellent learning and teaching experiences for our pupils.
For the last day of school before the Christmas holidays Hollie and Sophie were connecting a 300 piece jigsaw! This took all morning to complete and we finally finished. Here are some photos. By Sophie and Hollie
Primary 7 had a great time at their Christmas party yesterday afternoon. They were joined by Primary 6 pupils, and had fun playing games and ceilidh dancing. It was a lovely afternoon and everyone looked fantastic!
Thanks to all family and friends who were able to join us to celebrate Christmas yesterday at Catrine Parish Church.
Our comperes – P7 pupils Emily, Evie, Eryn, Sophie and Calan- did a wonderful job, as did our Media Team, Sophie and Leon in P7.
Our French Committee Group taught us lots of interesting facts about how Christmas is celebrated in France – thanks to Georgia, Ellis, Kaci, Erin and Summer for their excellent presentation.
Our P1, P2 and P3 pupils performed their nativity ‘Prickly Hay’ to a delighted audience – they looked wonderful in their costumes and the singing was brilliant – Photos to follow!
Catrine PS Parent Council announced the winners of their ‘Guess the Elf’s Birthday’ raffle – it was Leon in P7, and two lucky pupils were presented with £20 voucher for Smyths Toy Store after their names were drawn out in the whole school raffle – congratulations to Duncan in P4/5 and Caleb D in P2.
Thank you again for joining us yesterday – we hope our singing, poems and nativity left you feeling very Christmassy!!
Primary 1 and 2 had a wonderful time at our Christmas party. We all had a chance to show off our moves as we danced to our favourite Christmas songs. We then enjoyed a snack before playing some games and taking part in Ceilidh dancing.
We were in for a big surprise as Santa came to visit our party! We even got a chance to meet him in his grotto and received a lovely gift!
We all had a wonderful time at the pantomime at the Palace Theatre today – OH YES WE DID!
We sang, booed and shouted all the way through the performance. Neve in P6 and Joey in P3 represented the school beautifully when they were on stage singing a song with Buttons.
Palace Theatre staff complimented Catrine PS on our great behaviour, lovely manners and commented that we were the best school for tidying up after our snacks, leaving no rubbish at all. Well done everyone!
Well done to both Catrine PS and Catrine ECC for helping the pupils of Willowbank School in Kilmarnock with their visual Christmas Card. We enjoyed learning the Makaton signs and had great fun trying to sing and sign at the same time – not as easy as it might look!
