Learning judo skills from a commonwealth champion

This morning primary 4/5 had the chance to watch a commonwealth champion in action!

Time for the children to show off their judo skills…

The session ended with every child getting thrown to the mat by the judo champion herself!

Great fun had by all 😀

ps. No children were harmed in the making of this blog post!

One Black Dot Can Be…….

In P5/6 we enjoyed a creativity challenged called ‘One black dot can be’.

We were given a black dot and a sheet of paper and we had to use our imaginations to come up with a picture using the dot.  We had loads of great ideas.

First Week in Primary 7

Primary 7 had a very busy first week back at school. The class have been continuing their work on improving the school grounds and outdoor learning by digging up vegetables that had been growing in the garden over the summer holidays. The pupils planted seeds as part of their Big Sleepover in June and were amazed to see what had grown! There were potatoes, carrots, peas, beetroot and swedes. The class then worked together to make some delicious soup using the vegetables they had grown. It was a good start to the first week in Primary 7.

In P5/6 we have been hard at work building our Class Charter. We looked at the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and picked out the six rights we thought were most important to us in school.  We talked about the responsibilities we have for these rights and used them to develop our charter. We also decided our theme would be Toy Story.

School Flu Programme

Your child will receive their flu vaccine forms today issued from NHS. The date for the flu immunisations at Catrine Primary School is Friday 1 November. NHS have timescales to adhere to in relation to ordering vaccines etc. and due to limited resources they are not always able to visit a school more than once to collect forms. Therefore, all completed forms MUST be returned to the school by Wednesday 11 September.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Thank you.
