Thanks to everyone who came along to our Service on Wednesday morning. It was a pleasure to highlight the accomplishments of our pupils over the year, and to celebrate with our P7s as they move onto secondary school. As part of their World War 1 topic, Primary 7 created a Remembrance Garden in the school grounds and scattered poppy seeds. Poppies have now started to grow in the garden, and are a symbol of remembrance of the First World War.
The whole school had a great time watching all of the pupils who performed at Catrine’s Got Talent this morning. What a talented bunch we have at Catrine Primary School. The pupils (and staff) entertained us by showcasing lots of talents including singing, dancing, gymnastics, telling jokes, football skills, skipping and many more. Well done to Lauren Grieve and Kay-Cee Johnston who sang ‘Let it Grow’ and were our winners. Thank you to P7 for organising a super show!
The results of the Better Energy School Awards for Excellence in Environmental Education are now live!
Our school’s Eco Rocket entry bagged us the Regional Runner-up title and now you can see just how well we did online.

Primary 7 were delighted to receive their Read, Write, Count Moving Up Kits yesterday from the Scottish Book Trust and Scottish Government. The kits were gifted to the pupils to help with their transition to secondary school and included items to help with their learning. Included in the kits were: a water bottle, a USB stick, a journal, a scientific calculator, a pocket dictionary, a stationery set and a booklet to share with adults at home. These will come in very useful when the pupils move to the academy in August.
The school has received some free child vouchers for Blair Drummond Safari Park and are available at the office on a “first come, first served basis”.

Khyla and Sophie recently took part in the Lapraik Scottish Poetry Competition. They both received a medal and a book for participating. Well done girls .

P4/5 having fun at Blair Drummond.
P3/4 and P4/5 joined up for a fun-filled morning of play on Friday. The children chose a range of activities including Twister, construction, basketball, gymnastics, art and football to name a few. Everyone had a great time marking the longest day of the year.
As part of our Play on the Longest Day celebrations, Primary 1 and Primary 2/3 decided to make the most of the nice weather and explore the outdoors. We talked about the skills that we develop through play.

We were so excited to once again welcome 13 times Scottish Junior Cup winners Auchinleck Talbot to our school. The children asked former pupil Captain Wullie Lyle lots of interesting questions. Jamie asked how heavy the cup was and was very lucky to be given the chance to hold it! Thanks so much to Mr Chisholm and Ava’s dad for bringing in the cup again…maybe we will see them again next year 🤞
Evie was part of a gymnastics display where she won a medal for most improved gymnast . Well done Evie !
