Primary 6 and 7 enjoyed their Christmas party yesterday afternoon. They played different party games like musical arms and pass the parcel and showed off their great social dancing by doing the Gay Gordon’s, St Bernard’s Waltz and the Canadian Barn Dance! They also enjoyed some freestyle dancing – what a fab party!

Donation
Ms Farah Mirza proprietor of Mirza Convenience Store in Catrine recently ran a Community Christmas raffle. Ms Mirza donated £100.00 to the school for our school funds. This was a fantastic surprise that will benefit all the children within the school.
I have just received confirmation from the Scottish Sun that the school reached the set target and we will receive our free books in January 2019.
Thank you for supporting the school and helping us reach our goal!!
Dress Down Day
Friday 21 December will be a dress down day for all pupils. The school will close at 2.30 p.m.
Sorry for the late notification ………………………………….
Have a wonderful Festive holiday!!
Excellent Engineering
P4/5 completed The Turbine Challenge today to showcase their learning in term 2. They worked in pairs and trios to wire a circuit with a motor, conductors, power source and working switch. They then had to add turbine blades to their motor before constructing a tower to hold their creation. They then presented their models to the class and talked about their designs and how they tackled any problems they had. They did an amazing job. Well done everyone!
Christmas Show Photographs
Here are a few photographs from the P1-3 ‘Christmas Cracker’ and P4-7 ‘Straw and Order’ shows last week. I think you will all agree that the pupils were fantastic and put on an amazing performance!

Primary 6 – Christmas Crafts
Primary 6 have been enjoying some Christmas crafts in class this week. We have made our own Christmas tree decorations and Christmas wreaths! We think they look FAB!
Primary 7 Fundraising
Primary 7 would like to thank the Parent Council who have been helping with fundraising for their leavers hoodies. The Parent Council asked people to ‘guess how many sweets are in the jar’ at the Christmas show last week, and this raised an amazing £50! Thank you so much to everyone who took part and for the continued support of the Parent Council.
ECC – Christmas Fundraising
ECC – Christmas Parties
In the ECC the children have been enjoying lots of Christmas activities. On Tuesday they had their Christmas parties, and played party games before having some tasty snacks including lovely ice-cream donated by Dino’s.
Santa managed to take time out of his busy schedule to visit the children, and was treated to some great singing by the boys and girls.
Wonderful Christmas Service
Thank you to all family and friends who managed to attend our Christmas Service this morning.
Our pupils sang beautifully (despite the technical hitch!) and our P6 and P7 pupils read the Christmas story very well. Thanks to Rev. Clipston for joining us this morning.
Mrs Govans

Every pupil’s name was entered, with the two winning names being ‘pulled out of the hat’ at the Christmas Service today – Hannah Mackenzie in P1 and Connor Sneddon in P3/4. We’re sure Hannah and Connor will have great fun spending their vouchers during the Christmas holidays, and thanks to the Parent Council for their continued support.
ECC – Christmas Show
Aiken Drum visited the ECC and the children really enjoyed his Christmas Show. There were lots of songs to join in and they especially liked We’re Going On a Bear Hunt.
Creative Christmas Crafting
P4/5 made an excellent job of their Hama Bead Christmas tree decorations. They are all ready to go home to their own trees tomorrow.
ECC – Carols in the Square
The ECC children along with the school choir sang their Christmas songs in the village square. Both the morning and afternoon performances had a great audience of family and friends.

Primary 1 & 2 Christmas Party
Primary 1 & 2 had a fabulous time at their Christmas Party. They were showing off their wonderful dance moves & participated in a variety of Christmas themed games. We even had a very special visitor arrive at the party after hearing our amazing singing. The children then went to see Santa down in his very own Grotto, thanks to Mrs Watt & Mrs Goudie.
Primary 6 will be watching ‘Elf’ in class towards the end of this week. If you do not want your child to watch the film, please contact the school.
