P4/5 Maths – parallel and perpendicular lines

P4/5 have been exploring parallel and perpendicular lines. We used a venn diagram to sort pictures of lines in the environment then used a QR code scanner to check our answers.

ECC – The O Factor

Catrine ECC was an exhibitor at East Ayrshire’s O Factor, this was a showcase for all the amazing outdoor learning that is happening throughout East Ayrshire.

Jan Wardrop our Outdoor Learning Champion in the ECC was a Nominee for the Excellent Outdoor Practitioner Award. This was for the hard work she has put in to improving and extending Outdoor Learning in the ECC. This was shown in the efforts she put in to the stall she set up for the O Factor exhibition. Practitioners from other centres showed lots of interest and Jan was happy to explain all the things we have been doing.

School Show

Our tickets are flying off the shelf!! Thank you to all the parents who have successfully ordered these through ParentPay – even with our little hurdle ……

East Ayrshire Council are still trying to solve the “basket” issue, however please note that when you pay for the tickets you are only paying for the ordered quantity.

Mrs McDicken

Maths Champs

P4/5 have been hard at work on their Number Talks strategies. This week they have been practising the removal method for subtraction.  They used their knowledge of place value to help them get to grips with this new strategy.

£193.00 was raised for our Fundraiser on Friday 16th November. We will donate £96.50 to Children in Need and £96.50 to Make Catrine Sparkle.

A HUGE Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen – your continued support is invaluable!
