Teach Your Monster to Read is an App that supports the development of phonics & reading in a fun & enjoyable way.
It is currently FREE to download on the App Store until Sunday 30th September.
Scholastic Book Fayre
All children will be able to view the book fayre tomorrow with their class (Friday 28 September). Books will be on sale on Monday 1st, Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd from 9.00 a.m. – 9.45 a.m. for the children. Parents are invited to view/purchase books from 3.00 p.m. – 3.45 p.m. on Monday – Wednesday also.

ParentPay – packed lunch
Can I please remind all parents that a packed lunch should only be ordered through ParentPay if your child is going on a school trip. If your child is bringing their own packed lunch, there is no need to notify ParentPay. Thank you.
Active Girls Day
Our Primary 7 girls and our Active Schools Coordinator (Barry Holmes) are organising a morning of fun/physical sessions for the girls of Catrine Primary School to celebrate Active Girls Day. Free Books For Schools
All Scottish Primary Schools have the chance to claim a free bumper pack of 105 Collins Big Cat books, suitable for P1 through to P7 worth more than £550!
We are starting to collect printed tokens from The Scottish Sun and The Scottish Sun on Sunday between 24th September – 18th November.
Please, please, please help us collect these tokens!!
These can be brought to the school on a daily basis and put in a box in the main office.

Holiday
Please note that the school will be on holiday on Friday 21 + Monday 24 September. The children will start again on Tuesday 25 September at 9.00 a.m.
Tilly The Tenrec
Primary 3/4 have been learning all about nocturnal animals and were very lucky today to have a special little visitor, Tilly the Tenrec. We had fun learning all about tenrecs and loved watching Tilly clean herself in a sand bath!
Outdoor Learning – postponed
Catrine PS – Outdoor Learning postponed
EAC has issued an amber weather alert for tomorrow, Wednesday 19th September. Our whole school Outdoor Learning Day is therefore postponed until next Wednesday, 26th September, so pupils should come to school on 26th September dressed to work outdoors!
The safety of our pupils is always our priority, and we apologise for any inconvenience.

All about windmills!
Our STEM ambassador George came in to visit us today and showed us how to make our very own windmills. We learned all about the environment and how windmills give us electricity and what we need electricity for in our lives.
