The school closes on Friday 29th June at 1.00 p.m. for the Summer holidays. For the last day, all children can come dressed in their “casual” clothes e.g., shorts/t-shirts/hats etc. Please ensure your child has sun cream applied before they come to school. Children will start back on Monday 20th August at 9.00 a.m.
What a fantastic day we all had at the Farm Park! We had lots of fun playing in the inside soft play and even Mrs Govans went down the big, red slide! We had great time bouncing on the bouncy pillows and playing at all the different parks. We saw big camels with two humps and enjoyed learning facts about all the animals. It was funny when the lama spat on Sophie’s hand. Poor Sophie!
Claire Johnstone, world class indoor bowling champion and Commonwealth Games medallist, came to speak to P5/6 and P6/7 on Friday morning. Claire told us all about her career including how she first got into bowling, her achievements, career highlights and the places she had been lucky enough to travel to in the course of her career. The boys and girls had lots of questions to ask Claire, and got to see a Commonwealth Games medal!
The sun was shining on Thursday for our summer trip to Heads of Ayr Farm Park. Primary 5/6 enjoyed the Play Barn, visiting the shop, seeing all the different animals, playing on the trampolines and bouncy pillows. Despite the hungry seagulls at lunch time, we all had a great day!
Catrine Primary School had a fantastic Sports Day! A huge thank you to the children, staff, family and friends who attended. A special thank you to Davie Robinson and Robert McKenzie for organising Riverside Park and Catrine AFC for donating a bottle of water for every child.
Catrine Primary School’s Dyslexia Friendly Committee Group received their Bronze Award which was presented to Miss McLean and Mrs Govans at Dumfries House, Cumnock yesterday. Dylan Allan and Courtney Mitchell represented the committee group.
Congratulations to Marneil who won the House points for terms 3 and 4. They had a fantastic afternoon at the Games Hall celebrating their success. A big thank you to Tommy, Natasha and Carley for organising lots of fun activities.
Please note that if you have booked a hot lunch for your child on Thursday 21 June it must be changed to a packed lunch for the school trip. If it’s not changed/cancelled by Tuesday a.m. it will be changed by the school and the packed lunch will be charged to your parentpay account. Thank you.
At this time we are planning to go ahead with sports day tomorrow. Weather situations can change and a further update will be sent tomorrow at 9.00 a.m. We look forward to seeing you at Riverside Park at 10.30 a.m.
