Primary 1/2 and primary 2/3 are learning all about Africa. Today we focused on the African animals.  We now know lots of information about gorillas, lions and elephants.  We discussed what we had learned as we used different creative techniques to complete the animals for our Africa display.  We took part in many African activities including our fruit market stall which was a favourite.

Festival of Farming

Primary 5/6 had a great day last Wednesday at the Festival of Farming at Dumfries House. We learned lots about farming, farm animals and where our food comes from. Some of the activities included: making muesli and flour, milking a cow, working dogs, farm machinery, bees, eggs and chicks and rare breeds of animals.

Here are some photos to show you what we got up to!

P1/2’s Fun in the sun ☀️

Primary 1/2 had great fun today taking their learning outdoors. We were completing calculations using the adding machine & measuring using a variety of resources. We also practised our phonemes, tricky words &  our team working skills. Finally, we planted our own ‘magic beans’ and look forward to watching them grow over the next few weeks.

P2/3 visit to Catrine Cevic Centre

Primary 1/2 and Primary 2/3’s Fairyland adventure continues!

We all worked together to create our bear family.  I’m sure the next time the dragon visits us he’ll be very impressed with our art project.  The dragon kindly left us a treat to say thank you for helping Mummy Bear with her porridge recipe.  We can’t wait to see what the dragon needs help with next!

Welcome back to Term 4

It was great to see our pupils back at school today, looking so smart in their school uniforms and I’m sure the ECC boys and girls are happy to be back too.

This is going to be a very busy term – please check our GLOW page for regular updates and ensure that any permission slips for trips and visits are signed and returned quickly please.

Our Parents Night in March was very well attended, and thanks to everyone who completed our questionnaire.   We look forward to letting you know about our updated Vision soon, and introducing our Catrine Values Wheel.

Remember that we operate an Open Door Policy at both establishments – please phone or pop in to speak to me at any time.

Thank you for your continued support.  Mrs Govans
