Is there Room on the Broom?
The Nurture Class are completing a book study based on Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. There are lots of exciting activities planned. Parents should look out for an invitation to come in and see what we have been up to.
Story Club
Story Club takes place on a Friday lunchtime and is run by Mrs Campbell and some of the senior pupils for the infants. Reading a story every day can have a huge impact on children’s literacy and we are keen to improve our attainment in Literacy by improving vocabulary and writing. We are currently reading Julia Donaldson books which can be read and discussed in just 10-15 minutes. If you haven’t already tried them, give them a go. They are perfect for bedtime!
Bike Safety
It is important that if you’re riding your bike to school, you wear a helmet, and make sure your brakes and more important features are all in working order. Also, you cannot ride your bike in school grounds, for other peoples safety.
We hope you ride your bike safely,
Thank you! By Martha and Eliza
Congratulations!
We were all delighted to hear Mrs McKenna’s lovely news. Emilie was born on Saturday 21st January at 18.04 weighing 7lb 12oz. We know that you are absolutely smitten with her and wish you all the very best settling into family life at home.

Primary 3/4’s Magic Classroom
Primary 3/4’s Magic Classroom
This week P3/4 have been learning about the different ways we can learn. We discussed the different types of learners: visual, auditory or kinaesthetic and the pupils completed a quiz to find out what type of learner they are. In order to suit all learning styles we decided to change the classroom into a ‘Magic Classroom’, where the children have the responsibility to choose the place they work best. We have set up different workstations around the class, some with music, quiet areas, beanbags and clipboards, and the children are really enjoying exploring these!
Cancellation of Ukulele club
Please note that the Ukulele club on Tuesday 31 January has been cancelled. Parents will be notified when the club will resume.
