{"id":581,"date":"2022-05-18T11:10:08","date_gmt":"2022-05-18T10:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/catrineprimary56\/?p=581"},"modified":"2022-05-18T11:10:08","modified_gmt":"2022-05-18T10:10:08","slug":"big-talk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/catrineprimary56\/2022\/05\/18\/big-talk\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Talk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Twice a year, the children take part in our whole school \u2018Big Talk Homework Challenge\u2019.\u00a0 This is where your child gets the opportunity to prepare and present a talk to the class.<\/p>\n<p>This term we will be having a World of Work day so the title of the talk will be \u2018<strong>When I am older, I would like to be\u2026<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>At home, your child should prepare and practise their talk.<\/p>\n<p>Some ideas to include in their talk might be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What job would you like to do when they are older and why?<\/li>\n<li>What skills or equipment might you need for the job\/ what skills would this job help to develop?<\/li>\n<li>What skills do you have that would make you a good fit for this career?<\/li>\n<li>More information about your chosen job &amp; the role you would like to take on.<\/li>\n<li>You could also use other ideas to enhance your talk e.g. PowerPoint (saved on GLOW or pen-drive), drawings, diagrams or items from home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The talk should be ready to be presented the week bg Monday 6th June.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We look forward to hearing about what they would like to be!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Twice a year, the children take part in our whole school \u2018Big Talk Homework Challenge\u2019.\u00a0 This is where your child gets the opportunity to prepare and present a talk to the class.
