{"id":481,"date":"2022-01-13T16:40:22","date_gmt":"2022-01-13T16:40:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/catrineprimary1\/?p=481"},"modified":"2022-01-13T16:40:22","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T16:40:22","slug":"scots-poem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/catrineprimary1\/2022\/01\/13\/scots-poem\/","title":{"rendered":"Scots Poem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of our Scotland topic all the classes are learning a Scots poem.\u00a0 The Primary 1 poem is <em>Crocodile<\/em> by J K Annand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Crocodile by J K Annand<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">When doukin in the River Nile<br \/>\nI met a muckle crocodile.<br \/>\nHe flicked his tail, he blinked his ee,<br \/>\nSyne bared his ugsome teeth at me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Says I, &#8216;I never saw the like,<br \/>\nCleaning your teeth maun be a fyke!<br \/>\nWhat sort a besom do ye hae<br \/>\nTo brush a set o teeth like thae?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">The crocodile said, &#8216;Nane ava.<br \/>\nI never brush my teeth at aa!<br \/>\nA wee bird redds them up, ye see,<br \/>\nAnd saves me monie a dentist&#8217;s fee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We will be sending a paper copy of the poem tomorrow in your child&#8217;s book bags.\u00a0 Please practice it with them as we will be filming a class performance for the blog at the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p>Please ensure that the books bags are in tomorrow as we shall be sending a few things home.\u00a0 If you cannot find your child&#8217;s book bag or sound cards, please write a wee note and we can issue new ones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of our Scotland topic all the classes are learning a Scots poem.\u00a0 The Primary 1 poem is Crocodile by J K Annand.
