Today our P6 buddies came down to the ECC to help walk our Pre-school children up to Catrine Primary school to visit their P1 teacher and visit their new classroom. They all had a brilliant time!

In February we were successful in receiving our Early Years Award through Digital Schools.
And guess what – turns out, we are the first ECC in SCOTLAND to have achieved this!!!
On Tuesday 16th April we were visited by local counsellors, EAC’s Chief Executive Eddie Fraser and our Head of Education Linda Macaulay Griffiths to join us in celebrating the fabulous achievement.
Two of the articles can be found below.

As you will be aware in February 2024 we received an unannounced visit from Care Inspectorate. This is usually aimed to be carried out every 5 years.
During the holidays our report was made public on the Care Inspectorate website.
We were delighted with the feedback we received and the fantastic narrative within our report.
The staff have worked extremely hard over the past few years, pushing for positive outcomes for all of our families in everything that we do, and we are so pleased that this report has acknowledged this throughout.
The full report is attached below for your convenience and we ask that you take some time to read it.
Thank you to everyone that completed the parent/carer questionnaire prior to the report being published and for your very kind comments and feedback.
I hope you are as proud of the report as we all are here at Catrine Early Childhood Centre 🙂

Howard Park, Kilmarnock
The event will start at 3pm
There will be free BBQ and popcorn as well as live entertainment from local young artists throughout.
Old clothes are advised!
We encourage you to sign up so we have an idea of numbers attending but you can also just show up on the day too!

EAC are currently holding free training and support for people interested in a career in childminding.
It’s Leoni’s turn 🙂
Leoni is our Literacy Champion and she would like to invite you along to her workshop based around developing early writing skills.
Parents often ask how they can support their child in areas such as Literacy and Numeracy so Leoni has prepared a short presentation to hopefully answer some questions. There will then be an opportunity to visit our playrooms and outdoor areas, alongside your child, to explore a range of Literacy resources and get ideas for experiences you could continue to offer at home.
If you are interested in attending our Literacy Workshop we ask that you complete the booking form below to help us plan ahead.
✨🌏📚WORLD BOOK DAY📚🌏✨
✨Once upon a time, the wicked staff of Catrine ECC cast a spell on the children and families across the land.
The spell of the tidy up song playing on repeat, this magic spell can only be broken by building a special den at home and sharing your favourite story inside it. Best of luck in breaking the wicked staff’s spell. 🧙🏼♀️✨
To celebrate World Book Day and linking with learning experiences within The Mill we would love to challenge your den building skills at home.
Today your child will receive a den building plan for you all to create your very own den, we are so excited to see all of your ideas and dens.
Please return your plan to the ECC and share photos of your den building experience on your child’s learning journal. 🙂

Please read and save a copy of our 2024 dates for your diary from March – August.
Other events may get added following children’s interests.
To celebrate World Book Day, our lunch on Thursday 7th March will have a book theme to it.
Please see the poster below for the details.
