Primary 1 – Imaginative Writing
Primary 1 have enjoyed learning to write using their imagination. For Halloween we made real potions in class and wrote a list of what we mixed in.
Primary 1 – Owl Magic Visit
Primary 1 have been learning about Diurnal & Nocturnal animals and Light & Dark through the ‘Owl Babies’ story. We had very special visitors in our class today and had the opportunity to hold the owls and ask questions about how they are looked after.
P1 – No Pens Wednesday
As we are now at the early stages of learning to blend in Primary 1, the pupils practised making up words using the sounds they have learned on jigsaw pieces.
To practice identifying sounds and matching them with associated words, the children were encouraged to look at the given pictures and match them up to the correct sound in their circle.
We use a variety of different games to reinforce all the initial sounds and encourage the children to identify newly learned sounds in words they know.

Visit from Ciaran Murtagh
Barshare was massively excited to have a visit from the very famous author Ciaran Murtagh. Ciaran has written for Mr Bean cartoons as well as super books such as Stunt Boy. Ciaran provided the children with lots of great ideas about how to start their writing tasks – we cannot wait to read all the wonderful stories!
